Lehel Kovács is a Hungary-based freelance illustrator, and his recent Google Street View series of sketches is deservedly catching lots of internet attention lately. I’ve been sending more mail recently and this is a good example of what it’s been looking like. I follow a few mail artists scan blogs, including Frips and It’s Only Mail Art Friends, if I see someone I want to correspond with I’ll copy the scan (they’re hi-rez) and extract the return address to print on my own envelopes.

Here in Montana we’ve been drinking out of growlers for years so I got a short burst of early-adopter pride reading the article. It describes the current proliferation of bars and shops in Manhattan and Brooklyn that offer growler fills. They are quick to mention that growlers are “not just the toys of the bearded, flannel-shirt, beer-geek set.“
